mooandbaa.com draws on the expertise and passion of livestock enthusiasts and journalists Chrissie Lawrence and Jonathan Long.
Chrissie Lawrence
Chrissie has been involved in the pedigree livestock sector from a young age. Having been heavily involved with Young Farmers she began showing cattle for many notable pedigree breeders. She has worked with many breeds including Aberdeen-Angus, Limousin, Simmental, British Blue, Hereford and Charolais. She has also shown her own commercial show cattle.
For five years she worked as a journalist for agriculture’s leading farming publication Farmers Weekly, where she has held roles of livestock reporter, deputy livestock editor and stock and sales editor. She also helped design and manage the successful shows and sales blog Taking Stock
Chrissie made the leap in to the freelance world in November 2008 and has broadened her range of skills in to specialising in pedigree livestock website design, working alongside Lyndsey Behan of Show Business, as well as PR and marketing for pedigree livestock breeders.
Chrissie has a BSc degree in Agriculture from Harper Adams University College, Shropshire and has undertaken countless media training courses.
Jonathan Long
Jonathan joined mooandbaa.com in October 2010 having spent the last eight years also working for Farmers Weekly. Jonathan has held roles including reporter, deputy livestock editor, livestock editor and has also been responsible for the dramatic growth of FW’s Taking Stock blog.
Jonathan will now be responsible for mooandbaa.com’s key PR accounts, as well as assisting in pedigree website design and marketing and PR for the comprehensive portfolio of pedigree livestock breeders.
Chrissie and Jonathan live in rural Kent, where they also run their pedigree flocks of Southdown, Hampshire Down and Blue Texel flocks under the Chaileybrook prefix. Jonathan, a keen exhibitor of pedigree sheep, is also a judge for the Southdown and Suffolk Sheep Societies and has judged both breeds and interbreed championships across the UK at both regional and national level.
